Employee COVID-19 Protocol
If employees have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, the following steps must be taken:
1 . Employees should mask as soon as they find out they were exposed. They should continue masking for 10 days.
2 . If an employee develops symptoms, they should isolate immediately and get tested.
3 . An employee should test on day 6 after exposure, even if they do not develop symptoms.
If employees have received positive COVID-19 test results and have become ill due to the virus but did not require hospitalization, the following steps must be taken:
1 . Employees should contact Human Resources and their supervisor.
2 . Employees will be encouraged to contact a healthcare provider.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, employees can return to campus after meeting the following criteria:
1 . If symptomatic, employees may return to campus at least 5 days after the symptoms first appeared. For example, you can return on day 6 if you do not have a fever on day 5.
2 . If asymptomatic but tested positive, employees may return to campus 5 days after the test sample was collected.
3 . If employees have no fever (temperature less than 100.4) for at least 24 hours without using fever-reducing medicines like aspirin, acetaminophen, or ibuprofen.
4 . If employees have improved respiratory conditions.
5 . If employees exhibit no other symptoms of COVID-19.
6 . After day five, an employee can return if they wear a mask or other covering for their nose and mouth through to day 10.

Washing your hands multiple times a day will help protect you from germs. Always wash your hands with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds.

Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. If you don't have access to a tissue, cough or sneeze into your elbow crease. Make sure to wash your hands after coughing or sneezing.

If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub to kill germs on your hands. Each LDCC campus offers hand sanitizer stations in interior spaces.
